Department of Education – Proposed Priorities, Requirements, and Definitions-State Tribal Education Partnership Program
On December 28, 2022, the Department of Education announced that it was soliciting comments regarding Proposed Priorities, Requirements, and Definitions-State Tribal Education Partnership (“STEP”) Program. The Department is taking this action to support the development of partnerships among Tribal education agencies (“TEAs”), State educational agencies (“SEAs”), and local educational agencies (“LEAs”) to support the creation or expansion of TEAs to directly administer education programs, including formula grant programs under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as amended (“ESEA”), consistent with State law and under a written agreement among the parties.
Deadline for written comments is: January 27, 2023
Written comments should be submitted via the Federal eRulemaking Portal at regulations.gov.
