USDA – Inflation Reduction Act Roundtable Discussions with Tribal Leaders – Renewable Energy Development
On January 12, 2023, the Rural Utilities Service (“RUS”), United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) announced thirteen virtual roundtable discussions to gain input from stakeholders regarding the design of Inflation Reduction Act (“IRA”) of 2022 sections 22001 and 22004 with the intention of releasing a funding opportunity announcement in the first half of 2023. The IRA created several new clean energy provisions to be administered by the RUS, an agency of the Rural Development (“RD”) mission area of the USDA.
The next roundtable, on January 24, 2023, is aimed at promoting renewable energy development in tribal communities through Tribes, Tribal Utilities and Tribal Organizations and Entities.
